Kick Cancer in the Nards

Update: Thank you so much to everyone that donated! Not only were all three projects fully funded, but some bonus ones were as well! You guys rule!

Help kids learn about science, and down the road they can help us kick cancer in the nards!
(ahem, totally plagiarized from a friend much wittier than I)

I'm participating in the 2009 Tomato Nation/Donors Choose Social Media Challenge. Basically, DonorsChoose.org matches up donations with public school programs that need funding. Tomato Nation holds a yearly contest where people who donate can win prizes. It's a great way to spread the word about these charities and get more people to donate.

Along with a supremely awesome sponsor, I've donated 6 card packs for today's giveaway. Please, please, please take a look at the charities and donate if you can. The contest runs today only! You'll be entered to win one of the card packs by donating.

That supremely awesome sponsor I mentioned selected three science-related charities to help needy kids reach their true nerd potential. All of the donations will go to high-poverty school programs where students need workbooks and other basic learning materials. We both think cancer sucks balls and would love to give more kids the opportunity to become mega-doctors and kick its ass.

Ginormous thanks go out to my secret sponsor (she who shall not be named!) who set this whole thing up and donated much of the cost of the card sets. She will be receiving copious amounts of cocktails next week!

There's still time to donate, if not to enter for Sparrow prizes. But there are lots of OTHER prizes, maybe not so cool and eco-vintage but still worth having. You also get thank-you letters from the students, which is nifty.
